Waves

Hope your week is going well and you are getting back to the rhythm of life after the holidays.  I was speaking to one of my coaching clients yesterday who took a  plunge and quit her job this year to pursue her dreams.  (Before you quit yours, take note she was on an exit strategy and has some savings and a business to sustain her lifestyle).   Anyway as I spoke to her she said “she is so glad she Decided to take Action and quit because NOW she is seeing OPPORTUNITIES and POSSIBILITIES that she never saw before!”

Last week I started a series on Decide and Act 2013 and the first tip was to Stop Tolerating What is not working.  Some of the “tolerations” will take more time to stop depending on their nature and how long you have been tolerating them.  But the key is to DECIDE & ACT that you will not continue. The decision alone is powerful.

Ordinarily I would have said, set goals. But I don’t want you to miss it, so I will keep it plain.  In order to Take Massive Action (TMA) that will yield you new results you need to have a specific measurable target to be achieved within a specific time frame. Having a time frame provides a sense of urgency so that you are not hoping to hit the target one day in the by and by.  If all things were perfect, what would life look like for you?  Be honest about this answer.  Living in a society where we are always told what to do, we are so conditioned into doing what others want that we never really think this way.  If all things were perfect, what would life look like for you?  Before you run out and help the poor, remember that you can only love others as much as you love yourself. So let’s try this again, IF ALL THINGS WERE PERFECT WHAT WOULD LIFE LOOK LIKE FOR YOU? Where would you live? Where would you work? What would you drive? Would you be married or single? How much money would you make? What would your lifestyle be? What impact or difference would your life be making?

The honest answers to these questions will form the action that you should take.  When I speak at seminars or workshops, people are often sure that they want to make more money, but rarely anyone comes up and shares a figure. Until you are very clear about what you want to achieve in life, you will continue getting the results you are getting.  There is power in writing down what you want to become.  Don’t allow your mind to remind you of any limitation whether true or imaginary.  I am a big believer that whatever you mind can conceive you can achieve because that is how God created us in His image and likeness.  So I dare you to dream and write it down.

Next week will look at how to make it happen.  Feel free to share
